This is our first newsletter for the 2010-2011 school year and it will inform you of some of our activities for September and October. We encourage the children to tell you the lessons they have learned and the projects they have done in preschool and kindergarten, but they sometimes forget.

The information in this newsletter will allow you to ask them about events at school, and they will feel that you know what is happening during their time with us. We also will include "tidbits" that might be helpful for you and your preschooler.

Lastly, thanks for sending your children to Gaul's Nursery and Arts Centre. We really love teaching them and watching them grow.

Full Day – as early as 7:00 am
                                no later than 6:00 pm

Not only must we follow state guidelines regarding teacher/child ratio, bringing and picking up your child at the right time ensures that he/she will have the full benefit of our program. Please do not change or make-up days without talking to Helen or Carol.

Full day parents – if you cannot be here by 6:00pm, please make arrangements for someone else to pick up your child.

    TIDBITS

    1. Full Day Children Only – Please have your child bring in a small pillow & blanket. We will be giving you a nap sack with your child’s name so that their nap things are kept clean and together for the week. They will be given to you at the end of the week to be washed and returned. Please return in their sacks. Thank you. (NAMES IN LARGE LETTERS ON EVERYTHING.)

    2. For safety's sake, please hold your child's hand to and from school and always buckle up in the car. It's the law!

    3. Please do not allow the children to walk on the stonewall; we would not want someone to slip and fall on the stones! OUCH!!!

    4. Please make sure children's names are on all coats, sweaters, hats, etc.

    5. Please remind children NOT to bring toys to school. They are welcome to bring books in (with their name on them) for story any day and full day children are welcome to bring in G rated tapes or DVD’s for nap. (Please put names on tape.)

    6. For children that have lunch at school - we do not allow children to eat popcorn, hard candy or nuts because of possible choking. Please bring lunch box with name. We will gladly heat up lunches in toaster oven or microwave, but PLEASE  have food already prepared in a proper container.

    7. If you are running late and need to bring your child’s breakfast to school, you must be here by 8:45. Our preschool program begins at 9:00 and we do not want your child to miss out on any activities.

    8. If your child is a Bunny and unable to work the water fountain, he/she may bring in a sippy cup. Please put name on cup and lid.

    9. If your child needs to take medication during school hours, please ask the teachers for our medical form.

    10. Please make sure children wear SNEAKERS ONLY – NO DRESS-UP SHOES OR SANDALS to school for safety sake.

    11. State law requires that children should not be at school if they have a fever, and they cannot return to school until fever has been gone for 24 hours.

WE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME YOUR CHILD TO OUR SCHOOL! WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A FUN FILLED YEAR!!
